Tuncurry Lakeside Village, situated on 90 acres of superb waterfront bushland and gardens, is a rural getaway far from the hustle and bustle of city life. If you dream of a relaxing, romantic getaway; or an active, outdoors experience; or maybe a family holiday that combines a little of each this Resort has one of the longest traditions of delivering all that and more!

As the name implies, Tuncurry Lakes Resort is nested in an area endowed with expansive beautiful lakes. On the clean waters of the Myall, Smiths and Wallis Lakes, locals and visitors enjoy sailing, fishing, canoeing, windsurfing and skiing. Seafood lovers' note: shallow Wallis Lake is one of the largest oyster-producing areas in New South Wales!

The Tuncurry / Forster area....

Captain Cook gives us the first record of the area with the naming of Cape Hawke on May 11, 1770. Over a century later in 1893, the aboriginal name for 'plenty of fish' was gazetted to distinguish the area from Forster. Today the twin towns provide a full range of leisure facilities to serve the Great Lakes water playground.

The area provides a great proportion of the state's seafoods - oysters, fish, prawn, crabs and lobsters. Estuary fishing is plentiful in Wallis Lake's 26km length and surrounding waterways, you can fish from the area's 13 beaches or go offshore for the big ones.

Sports and entertainment....

In addition to the facilities at Tuncurry Lakeside Village, the Tuncurry / Forster area has two beautiful 18 hole golf courses, 3 bowling clubs, magnificent RSL and Skylark Park and Model World Park to the North. The various licensed clubs and restaurants welcome visitors all year round.

Scenic spots...

Local beauty spots include the Rotary Lookout at Bennets Head, Wallis Lake with its 30 islands, the Marikiri Nature Park at Tuncurry. The Lakes Way skirting Myall Lakes, Smiths Lake and Wallis Lake provide a good introduction to the beauty of the area.

Facilities available at the Village....

Four villas totalling 48 self-contained single-storey units - the unit-villas are in Australian traditional style, with large covered verandahs. Each fully furnished 2 bedroom unit accommodates four people only and provides private bathroom facilities, television and DVD player and kitchen with full sized refrigerator, hotplates and microwave oven.
